Reluctantly I'm preparing the boat for foul weather whilst still in La Gomera harbour & planning to head home for a few days. The forecast is still grim with only 2 day windows before a 4-5 days rough period with a repeat cycle likely. We need at least a 5 day window to clear to a safe southern latitude. So it's back to blighty to be on standby to return no earlier than Friday 18th but possibly even longer. It's so frustrating & of course very costly whilst being out of work still with the journey ahead. These are unprecedented circumstances & we're totally in the lap of the Gods, something we'll have to get used to in any case once underway.
