Hurricane force winds over the Azores & a Low Pressure building off of Tenerife means with 25 knot winds heading our way by Friday so we're likely to be delayed leaving until potentially next Wednesday !! Port officials would forcably bring us back, impound the boat & slap a 10,000 euro fine if we set out with those conditions brewing & quite rightly so. The race organisers won't let us leave in any case until it's safe to do so. Otherwise we'd all be on para anchors within days being very sick & probably going backwards. So it's a waiting game but at least Tom has headed back home to be with the family for a few days as have a few other rowers. The rest of us are at least making the most of the sun whilst it's still here & living as cheaply as possible. Unfortunately we've eaten all the local dishes there are so we may try our hand at fishing tomorrow & then knock up a BBQ. I'll try & blag a laptop tomorrow & do a more extensive report, until then TTFN
